Mobile Pressure Washers
Pressure Washers are an essential tool in the car wash industry, and having the right tool for the job makes Tomahawk machines the premium choice in maximizing an operators workflow.
PSI (Pressure Per Square Inch)
One of the biggest misconceptions in the Pressure Washer industry is the need for the most PSI output from your machine. When it comes to car washing, 1500 PSI is the ideal pressure to ensure a fast and thorough wash. Pressure ratings exceeding 2000 PSI dramatically increase the risk of exterior paint damage; likewise, pressure ratings under 1100 PSI do not pack enough oomph to properly clean a vehicle. At Tomahawk, all of our machines are designed and tested to operate at roughly 1500 PSI before leaving our warehouse.
GPM (Gallons Per Minute)
Equally important to the operating PSI of your machine is the GPM it is capable of pushing at the ideal 1500 PSI mark. No matter what PSI your machine is set to operate at, the pump will be pushing its rated GPM; the GPM is determined by the Pump that is affixed to the motor, not the PSI of the machine!
Having a pump with a higher GPM rating is crucial in maximizing washing time and efficiency. Have you ever tried to get the shampoo out of your hair in a shower with a low water flow nozzle, compared to a high water flow nozzle that can push more water onto your head? Having a pressure washer that can produce 3 GPM at 1500 PSI versus 2 GPM at 1500 PSI is a very noticeable difference in how long it takes to rinse the soap and grime from the vehicles surface.
